Painting tips

The type of paint that you use is very important because using the wrong ones will be costly especially when there are corrective actions involved. Where this is concerned, it would be advisable to look for the best brands of paints around as they are reputable as well as trial and tested. There are many different types of paints available in the market today where the Eco paint would be most ideal because it is as effective as it claims.

This type of paint is odorless and do not contain chemicals that might cause allergies to the skin and body. Such paints are designed to last for a long time which would be a good investment for the home. Such elements are known as VOCs or Volatile Organic Compounds.

Types of paints

There are in general 2 types of paints which are either water or oil based. The water based paints are easier to wash, containing lower VOCs and dries very quickly. When you buy this paint, all you need to do is to add water and it can be used immediately.

On the other hand, oil-based paints might have higher contents of VOCs. However, this type of paint provides you with a more attractive finish. It is best used to create a balanced work and do not wash off as easily. This means that oil-based paints would last longer in most cases but would surely be difficult to wash off if it stains the hands.

Which is better?

In this context, it must be noted that water based paints are more suitable for walls while oil based paints would be more suitable on surfaces where you want to create a glossy outlook. This includes the likes of woodwork, doors or grills.

Water-based paints are more eco-friendly which is why more homeowners have switched fully on this. It must be noted that water based paints might not work very well on surfaces which have been previously coated with oil based paint.

Effects

There are different types of effects that the paint can do to the surface. For instance, matte paint has a very velvety type of texture and can be used to help any cracks or imperfections on the surface. Satin pain meanwhile provides a certain type of reflectivity and is perfect for places like kitchens. You can use glossy paints which are either semi or fully glossy which are ideal for doors and baseboards as well as on grills, window panes and others.
